A Few Facts To Help You Decide Between A Classroom Or Online Real Estate Class

Posted on: 17 March 2016

In order to become a real estate agent in the state of Florida, you must complete a sixty-three-hour class and pass an exam. The class is not easy, and the test is even more difficult. Of course, finding time to attend a class can be difficult when you have a job and family. Luckily, there are schools that have online classes too. However, you need to be realistic and honest about yourself when choosing between a regular classroom and taking the course online if you want to succeed and pass the test the first time around. Here are some things to consider before registering.

Classroom

Taking a regularly scheduled class means you have to be able to attend each session. Because of the difficulty of the exam, roughly only 53 percent of takers pass it the first time, you do not want to miss anything important. However, by attending you will have an experienced real estate agent, or broker, there to help you understand everything. He or she will also have a lot of real life experiences to share with you. There will be more motivation when you are in a classroom with others, and you will be less likely to just skip a class. As an added bonus, you are creating a network of people in the industry just by attending class; your instructor, classmates and guest speakers can all be connections you can use later in your career.

Online

The biggest advantage to taking the class online is time. You can fit your study in when you have a chance. If you want to study at 2 AM you can and you don't HAVE to do it at any specific time. In addition, this means that you can take as long as you want or need to complete the course. If you understand a topic quickly, test out of it and move on. You don't have to wait for the rest of the class or your teacher. You can also study for a longer time, making sure you understand the subject before moving on as a teacher will not be moving the class forward.

If you know that you will be able to do the work, and remain dedicated to it, an online class is a good idea. However, if you know that you will put things off, and possibly never finish the course, you should attend a regular class. The choice is yours, and you need to consider your time, but do not think you can half-heartedly do the classwork and pass the exam. If you truly want to be a real estate agent, you will find a way to complete the course regardless of how you take it.
